Dear friends and colleagues,
Because we believe all users should be able to access the content or
run the applications and devices of their choice, the Consumer
Project on Technology is a member of Save the Internet coalition (see
long list of members at http://www.savetheinternet.com/=coalition)
and we would like to bring to your attention the useful "senate map"
put together by Free Press here:
http://www.savetheinternet.com/=senatemap
Check where your senators stand on net neutrality and then, well, you
know what to do and if not, see excellent suggestion below.

We're writing to ask your help. Internet freedom is under attack in
Congress. A bill in the Senate could harm our organization and anyone
who uses the Internet.

Companies like AT&T, Verizon and Comcast are lobbying Congress to
give them more control of the Internet. They want Congress to change
the rules so they can build toll booths on the Internet and charge
Web sites like ours for access to the fast lane.

SavetheInternet.com built this easy-to-use map which tells you where
your Senators stand on Internet freedom, and how to contact them. Can
you call your senators today? Click here:

We're asking Senators to support "Net Neutrality," the guiding
principle of the Internet that prevents companies like AT&T and
Verizon from discriminating against Web sites and online services.

If Net Neutrality is eliminated, who loses? Organizations like ours.
The little guy with a Web site. Small businesses who can't outbid
Microsoft for the right to open quickly on your computer. In fact,
democratic participation, economic innovation, and free speech all
lose if the Internet becomes an uneven playing field.

Who wins? Companies like AT&T and Verizon, whose lobbyists are
storming Congress in hopes of passing a law that would allow them to
discriminate on the Internet.

Please call your Senator to protect Internet freedom today. To take
action, click here:

Thanks for helping to save the Internet.
