The BBC has done another 'ask the industry' Q@A on digital issues. You can

 This time with the Film industry. Full list of questions asked below but
includes DRM and regional encoding. The Panel answering were

Dan Glickman, chairman and chief executive of the Motion Picture
Association of America (MPAA), which represents major Hollywood film
studios.
Lavinia Carey, director general of the British Video Association (BVA),
the trade body for the UK video and DVD industry.

Curt Marvis, chief executive of CinemaNow, which is billed as the leading
legal movie download service, allowing fans to watch or buy films over the
internet.

John Fithian, president of the National Association of Theatre Owners,
which represents US cinemas.

 Questions:
 Q1. Will fans choose how they want to watch?

Q2. Why not illegally download?
Q3. Why not have simultaneous global release?


Q5. What's being done to save cinemas?


Q7. What's the point of DRM?


Q4. Why have region encoding on DVDs?


Q6. Why have anti-piracy trailers?


Q8. Was the video recorder damaging?
