Nick,

There as been an informal coalition coordinated by EDRi, BEUC and Ross
Anderson on the second IPR enforcement directive.

See Ross' version of the result at :
http://www.fipr.org/copyright/ipred2.html

You can also look at pages I maintain.
On both IPR enforcement directives :

On debunking the vocabulary used in the second one :

Philippe

Subject: [Ecommerce] Upcoming EU Parliament Legal Affairs Committee session on
the IP Enforcement Directive

For those of you who do not know, there is a debate in the Legal
Affairs Committee - something of a public hearing - in the context of
the upcoming revisions to the directive above-referenced. This is at
the Parliament on 30th January.

I have been selected as the sole representative of the music sector
to speak, so, I'm working with several NGOs to make remarks
representative of the views of a large cross section of the industry,
excepting the major phonogram producers (who always elbow everyone
else out of being heard as much as they can in Brussels).

There is a representative of BEUC attending and speaking a bit
earlier in the session and I'm sure many other civil society groups
will be present. It would be helpful to know who is going, and see
any written comments which have been submitted, and/or hear any views
that consumer interests care to make about the directive... I will of
course be providing copies of my remarks.

There will be a question and answer session later in the day for
those present...
