Today The Hague Conference delegates signed the final act for the new
Hague choice of Court Convention.

Delegations agreed on the rules for the chosen courts, the rules for
the court seized (but not chosen in the agreement), the rules for
enforcement of judgments, intellectual property is in, there is a
declaration article by which States can opt out for some specific
subject matters (asbestos, nuclear damage etc)...the exceptions or
"escape clauses" are fixed (it has to be a "manifest injustice"),
disconnection (for internal EU cases) etc..

Now, the delegates have to work on the report and begin
consultations on possibility of signing.

The final text should be posted soon at www.hcch.nl

FYI: I posted parts of yesterday's working document 88E (there will
be very few changes) on The Hague list.
