It's encouraging to see India's position on Xcaster and the move to
bring it up in UNESCO. We should take the opportunity to point out to
the Indian delegation to UNESCO that this position is much better than
their stance in the Convention on Cultural Diversity negotiations, where
they have not objected to strong IP language and have positioned
themselves as a 'rational middle path' between the US and the
Brazilians. We would like to see them be more consistent and work more
closely with the Brazilian delegation, who have been very, very good in
the UNESCO CCD negotiations.
If anyone here knows Indian UNESCO delegates, please let them know. Thanks.
