At the April 15. 2005 briefing on UNESCO's Convention
on the Protection of the Diversity of Cultural Contents and Artistic
Expression; commonly know as the Cultural Diversity Convention, several
participants asked for the creation of some mecanisms to send comments
on the draft.
I received this today:
QUOTE:
In response to the interest voiced at the meeting, the U.S. National
Commission for UNESCO will be accepting comments on the convention.
Please send your analysis of the document to dcunesco@state.gov
<mailto:dcunesco@state.gov>, in the subject line please write
"Convention Comments."
We are looking into possibilities of wider distribution of the comments.
The draft convention can be found at:
_SECTION=201.html>
END OF QUOTE
There's no date but I suspect it would be helpful to get your comments
in before the US delegation leaves for the next inter governmental Paris
meeting (May 25-June4, 2005).
If you'd like your comments to be widely distributed...send them to me
they will be made available to the public on our lists and on UNESCO
page http://www.cptech.org/unesco/.
