Last week, four content industry executives squared off against EFF's
Fred von Lohmann and NYU's Siva Vaidhyanathan in a lively debate at
Cornell University. Some copyfighters worried that four against two
would be unbalanced, but it was the content execs who were outmatched
by Fred's and Siva's expert debating. Plus, the Cornell students were
almost unanimously skeptical of the content industry's claims - a very
auspicious sign for the future of our movement.

Watch the three hour video and hear some great arguments on both sides

Meanwhile, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has
been pushing stronger IP for decades, and it has announced that
Tuesday, April 26 is "World Intellectual Property Day 2005." Their
goal is to celebrate information-as-property, but we've got a better
idea: meet people in your area who care about balanced intellectual
property, not just more of it.

Gathering for conversation over drinks or dinner is a great way to
start turning those feelings into action. And one week from Tuesday,
