Quite funny that the ads (served by google) at petitiononline.com for
the WIPO manifesto are all ads like the following:
"Patent & TM Docketing: PortfolioIP provides US and foreign docketing
and paralegal services."
"Want to patent your idea? Don't let someone else cash in on your great
invention!"
"FoundationIP IP Docketing: Docket Patent & Trademarks on-line Workflow,
Forms, E-Reports, & more"
"Patent Search: Professional search in more than 36 million patents.
With Ranking."
Quickly poking around for alternatives for future petitions, I came
across www.thiscause.org - seems kind of cool, it allows graphic
signatures (by mouse or upload), doesn't seem to carry ads.
The best alternative, probably, is to set up and host our own petitions,
not difficult with some php. For example we had decent success with the
CRIS+ positions on the draft UNESCO convention, which many of you signed
on to.
Anyway, thanks for putting it together, and there's definitely buzz
building about the WIPO process!
