Item 11: MATTERS CONCERNING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A NEW WORK PLAN FOR THE
STANDING COMMITTEE ON THE LAW OF PATENTS IN RESPECT OF THE DRAFT
SUBSTANTIVE PATENT LAW TREATY

The WIPO General Assembly decided that

(i) the SCP should concentrate its work in the first instance on the
four items set out in paragraph 8 of document WO/GA/31/10 with a view to
the convening of a diplomatic conference to conclude a treaty on those
items on dates and at a place to be decided by the General Assembly at
its ordinary session in 2005;

(ii) the International Bureau should organize information and
cooperation meetings on the four items mentioned in the previous
paragraph regionally and nationally:

(iii) the SCP should continue its work on all other matters considered
in previous session of the SCP with a view to convening a diplomatic
conference to conclude a treaty on such matters when the SCP considers
that discussion on those matters have reached a sufficiently advanced
stage to recommend to the General Assembly that a diplomatic conference
be convened.
