[Ecommerce] FYI: Canadian suggests international treaty on spam

Manon and all,

  An international treaty for handling spam is a very good and long
overdue initiative.  However it is very doubtful such a treaty is
in the offing in the near of mid term, as such a treaty it not in the
interests of marketing firms and the like.  It is fairly well known
and sometimes reported that 70% of all spam is generated or
can be traced to US origin, and as such should be addressed
by the appropriate US agencies such as DOC/NTIA, FTC,
and FCC. Yet said agencies have been bickering between
themselves for several years in deciding whom should directly
address the growing spam problem...
