Dear colleagues,
Some of you asked when the casters' treaty will be discussed at WIPO.
Here's the link to the Standing Committee on Copyriright and Related
Rights agenda.
http://www.wipo.int/documents/en/meetings/2004/sccr/index_11.htm
On the first morning of the meeting, Monday June 7, there will be an
information meeting:
"on Broadcasting Across the Globe: a View towards the **Future"*
No speakers list is available yet but I will let you know who will be
briefing the committee as soon as the information becomes available.
*
On Monday June 7 (afternoon) the committee will decide on the agenda (see c=
ut and paste below) proposed by the Secretariat. The time for the various =
item (database and casters'for example) depends on the delegates and the ch=
air. It depends on how many statements are made and how long they are. If=
you look at the draft you'll see that many articles have alternative langu=
age. It will not be an easy and quick process.
Meetings of the committee are usually from 10am to 1pm and then 3pm to 6pm =
everyday.
I imagine that item 5 (the casters' treaty) will be discussed Monday aftern=
oon, Tuesday and Wednesday.
