[Ecommerce] meeting with OMB on tuesday

On tuesday the 13th, we are meeting with OMB to discuss several issues, 
including progress on putting government contracts on the Internet, and 
discussions of how government procurement can make the client software 
market more competitive.  These include proposals for requirements that 
USG purchases of word processing software utilize as a default an open 
and non-proprietary standard for file formats, or even that the USG buy 
Corel software (now valued about about $80 million) outright and put int 
in the public domain, or otherwise use its leverage to address the 
increasingly expensive MS monopoly on wordprocessing and related 
applications.
