A suspect accessed to a server unlawfully, stole "the house on a network",
and sold off for 50,000 yen.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of violation of Injustice Access
Control Law on the grounds that he accessed unlawfully to the server of the
adventure game on the Internet "the Ur Tema on-line."
In the game, the hero on the fictitious currency "GP" currently used in this
game and a game lives being dealt in the cash of a large sum among maniacs.
The suspect pretended the woman who became acquainted on the game asked the
game software development company the victim’ s password on the pretext of
forgetting it, being issued the password. The suspect used the password and
accessed unlawfully to the server of the company located in the United
States from his computer a total of 7 times during from September to
November last year.
After that, the suspect operated the hero instead of the woman, and had sold
off "house" 1 eaves (25 millions GP) to another participant for 50,000 yen.
The incident was revealed after a victim lodged a complaint to the
Metropolitan Police Department, saying that it is the house where he took
out and bought 80,000 yen.
