3rd Interdisciplinary Conference on Electronic Commerce "ECOM-03"
         October 16-18, 2003, Gdansk, Poland
            *** 1st Call for Papers ***

After a succesful meeting in Sopot, Poland - ECOM-02 - we would like to
announce the next conference in the series. ECOM-03 is going to take place
in October 2003, in a beautiful seaside spot near Gdansk, Poland.

* Scope of the Conference *

We would like to invite original papers on all aspects of electronic
commerce and related issues. The conference is meant to address not only the
academic community, but also representatives of business, industry,
government, and information technology sector. Thus - apart from research
papers - practical presentations of existing solutions are very welcome, too.

General list of topics includes:
- Electronic Markets and Electronic Marketing
- Languages and Models for E-Commerce
- Artificial Intelligence in E-Commerce
- Electronic Contracting and Legal Aspects of E-Commerce
- Electronic Interaction and Negotiation
- Virtual Enterprises
- Technology and E-Commerce
- Internet Computing and Electronic Commerce
- Social Side of E-Commerce
- Futurology of E-Commerce.

You can also have a look at the more detailed list on the conference web
pages (http://parlevink.cs.utwente.nl/ecom/03/detailed.html). Please note
that, however long and detailed, this list is not exhaustive. Interesting
papers on other related topics are also very welcome.

* Paper Submission and Publication *

Papers can be submitted either electronically (preferred method) or in
hardcopy. A paper shouldn't exceed 8 pages of print. The title page *must
not* contain the authors' names nor affiliations to enable blind reviewing.
Please remember to send us the title of the article, together with the
abstract, authors' names and contact address before you submit the paper.
This will hopefully let us assign the papers to the reviewers more efficiently.

Authors are encouraged to submit papers in English, although Polish is also
acceptable for submission. Please note, however, that English language will
be considered a serious advantage during the qualification process. The
abstract must be prepared in English even if the rest of the paper is in
Polish. For more information about preparing and submitting articles, as
well as templates for LaTeX2e and MS-Word, consult the conference web pages
(http://parlevink.cs.utwente.nl/ecom/03/submissions.html)

Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
The proceedings will be available at the conference.

* Important Dates *

2003-05-15 Submission of abstracts
2003-06-01 Paper submission
2003-08-01 Notification of acceptance
2003-09-01 Final versions of papers due
2003-09-01 Early registration deadline
2003-10-01 Late registration deadline

Please note: the qualification process is based on the reviews of full
papers. We kindly ask you, however, to submit the abstracts a little bit
earlier to let us assign the papers to the reviewers more efficiently.

* Registration *

It's impossible to propose exact registration fees at this moment. However,
some rough estimation gives the following figures (in Polish zlotys and euro):

Regular registration: 490 PLN (EUR 150)
Student registration (undergraduate and postgraduate students): 390 PLN (EUR
120)

The registration fee includes: attendance at the conference, a copy of the
proceedings and refreshments during the breaks. At least one author of a
paper must register to have the paper published. Presenting the paper at the
conference is very welcome, but it's not compulsory. Note: the above figures
are for early registration only. Late registration will be more expensive,
as it usually is.
