Yahoo Japan, the Internet auction site, will start to release bank transfer
account and postal-savings account number of the exhibitor to whom many
troubles were reported regarding, the Internet auction fraud from January
22, 2003 to the site of the company.

The official announcement of an actual existence account number with many
problems is the first by the major industry company.

Yahoo Japan has taken and eliminated the measure of suspending use of Yahoo
Japan ID for the exhibitor to whom many trouble was reported so far.
However, it is difficult to prevent the exhibitor's acquiring new ID and
newly beginning dealings. Even in such a case, a wicked entrepreneur tends
to maintain the same bank transfer account. Then, Yahoo! enabled it to check
by providing the list of these entrepreneurs' accounts, before the user
transferred the successful bid money.

On this list, a real financial institution name, a branch name,
classification, an account number, and account names are revealed.

Yahoo! started to send a warning e-mail to a user regarding network auction
scam.

>From November, 2002, it started to show the arrested suspect name related to
internet crime on the site.

According to the National Police Agency, the network scam number in the
first half of 2002 is amounting to 443 cases, increasing of 38.9% compared
with last year. The number of the fraud cases is 59. It increases of 11.3%
compared with last year.
