World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS)
The global information society is evolving rapidly. The convergence of
telecommunications, broadcasting multimedia, and information and
communication technologies (ICTs) drives the development of new products
and services, as well as ways of conducting business and commerce. The
World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) aims to bring together
heads of state, executive heads of United Nations agencies, industry
leaders, non-governmental organizations, media representatives, and
civil society to develop a better understanding of global information
society issues.
U.S. preparations for the WSIS will be conducted via the International
Telecommunication Advisory Committee (ITAC). For more information or to
submit documents, please send an email to wsis@state.gov. Please note
that all documents received will be submitted to the ITAC via email.
