WASHINGTON, D.C. -- On Thursday September 26th, Progressive Policy
Institute (PPI) Vice President Robert Atkinson will testify before the
Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection Subcommittee of the House
Committee on Energy and Commerce at a congressional hearing on "State
Impediments to E-Commerce: Consumer Protection or Veiled Protectionism?"

Unleashing the Potential of the High-Speed Internet

Most Americans feel that the current offerings on the Internet do not
justify paying for a broadband connection. In turn, the low take-up rate
gives service providers little justification for large-scale rollouts
that could drive prices down. Solving this chicken-or-egg conundrum
limiting broadband needs to be a key goal of public policy.
