[Ecommerce] spam for National Wildlife Federation digital trading cards

Susan, I'm in Geneva this week, but will call the NWF next week to see if
this was authorized by them. But in terms of spoofing who sends messages,
isn't this fraud? The reason why the spoof is done is to hide who the true
sender of the spam is, typically because they sender is violating some
terms of service by its ISP. Not many consumers will be able to read to
email headers and figure out what actually happened. Isn't fraud a criminal
issue too? I feel like taking a meeting with USDOJ to find out what if
anything they are doing about these cases, which have exploded in the past
year.

Jamie

: Jamie,
: You'd complain to the FTC, but it's civil, not criminal, so no jail time,
: I'm afraid. Are you following up on this with the wildlife folks? It's
: outrageous if they've been a party to this.

: This note spoofed me as the sender. The Sender was listed as me, even
: though I obviously didn't send this to myself. It appears to be actually
be
: authorized by the NWF, although even that isn't completely clear. If
this
: is fraud, who do I ask to put someone in jail over this? Jamie
