[Ecommerce] BT suit over hypertext patent

This is the slashdot.org story on the British Telcom suit against
Prodigy, over BT's patent on hypertext linking, a dispute that
illustrates the following:

  1.  Patent examiners can't track prior art in software
  2.  Innovations in software do not depending upon patents
  3.  Patents on fundamental Internet technologies represent a threat to
innovatio
  4.  Imagine the problems a patent like this will cause if they are
upheld.
