As Louise may have told you - I'm leaving the ACA to joing a local =
investment bank as Internet Analyst and E-comm Strategist. Sounds like a =
big leap from consumer advocacy, I know. But I used to be a technology =
banker before dropping out of business school to work with non-profits. So =
the cookie crumbles in interesting ways. Anyway, I'm hoping to be a =
consumer-savvy analyst with privacy, trust etc as core criteria. So if =
there's any way to keep any relevant, new info coming through from this =
list from time to time, it will be well-used. I'll pop you an e-mail when =

PS - our govt is now looking more seriously into the e-patent issue, and =
some of our bigger corporates are as concerned about US practice as you =
are.

It has been a while since the ecommerce list was set up.  Marc Rotenberg
earlier asked that the list membership be transparent.  With our new
list software, this easier to do (I can make it available only to list
members). =20

Right now there are 51 list members.  There are currently three
US government officials on the list, including Lisa Rosenthal from the
FTC, Michael Donohue from the FTC and Susan Cronin from the US
Department of State.  Michael and Susan were added today.  We also have
Francis Malema from South Africa. =20

You can see the entire list of subscribers by going to the listinfo
page, and entering your email address and password in the format near
the bottom of the page.  If you have forgotten or failed to save your
password, you can enter your email address at the bottom of the page and
go to the edit options page, and ask for your password to be resent (you
can also change it to something you can remember better).   The listinfo
URL (which is printed on the bottom of every list missive) is this:

Subscriptions to the list must be approved by the list owner.  It was my
intention to keep the list private, and to add people from various
citizen groups who work on ecommerce issues, plus others such as
government officials, academics and experts.  Right now there are no
journalists on the list.  List members are free to recommend new list
members.  I'm not trying to make this a big list, but I would be happy
to add people. My current thinking is to be open to government
officials, academics and consumer groups, but closed to business
lobbyists or lawyers.  People can discuss this or any other aspect of
the list.

With the new list software, there are archvies.  These are only
available to list members, and are on the web here:
