[Dioxin-l] References about threshold

I might understand what all the talk of "threshold" is about more if I understood what evolution (or the creator) put the Ah Receptor there for in the first place. What other purpose does this AhR have? Probably a dumb question to the scientist out there but to us survivors of TCDD it sounds like a good question. 


For years scientist were saying a man has a good chance of having/getting cancer if his Prostate Specific Antigen levels were elevated. Then they found the PSAs in womans breast. I guess no one asked the dumb question of "what else does it do?"
