As China opens up, the incinerator companies move in. Sounds familiar.

The small size of these incinerators seems to indicate that they will be
used for medical or haz. waste.

Switzerland Helps Build Waste Treatment Plants in China
Xinhua News Agency
DATELINE: WUHAN, January 27

Three Chinese cities are receiving Swiss government loans to build
three treatment centers for harmful waste.

According to agreements between the Chinese and Swiss governments,
Switzerland will provide 11 million US dollars of government loans to
build treatment plants in Wuhan and Jiujiang, two cities along the middle
reaches of the Yangtze River, and Ganzhou in southern Jiangxi province.

Each of the treatment plants involves a total of 50 million yuan (6
million US dollars) in total investment, with incinerators that can handle
40 tons of waste a day, using Swiss technology and equipment.

Harmful waste has posed a serious threat to the environment in the three
cities in recent years.
