you know, all of this really bothers me too and I have been
considering another follow-up to my conversation with John - some of
his claims require more scrutiny - but consider that when=A0Fred Miller
was posting, people complained that it was so off-topic?

well, where is he when we need him?! his stuff was miles more on topic
than the present thread which has the further disadvantage of throwing
list-members at each other's neck.

maybe we should chalk it up to this Halloween-ish electoral season -
even bin Laden has stopped by now for a peek-a-boo and a trick or
treat! - and the list will return to business after Tuesday.

all I know is we will never be back on topic if the moderator himself
isn't.
