Hmm, I would say an incomplete neither.
it is not baseless, but neither is it a complete picture.
I doubt if the author realises he is not actually comparing apples with
apples, when he tries to relate a "clean MS-Win install" with a GNU/Linux
install with various applications to choose from.
He would have been closer if he had compared a typical pre-installed
Win-machine with MS-only apps to a GNU/Linux install.
He also has not taken note of the rant by Eric Raymond <?> over excessive
geekiness and user-unfriendliness, using CAPS as an example of some
weaknesses in the GNU/Linux "user experience".
It's a good op-ed piece for a tech mag, user group mag, or general
consumption computer journal.
