Well, this explains some of where she's coming from! See: "SCO Group Gains
Psychological Edge," http://lwn.net/Articles/41516/
"Yankee Group analyst Laura DiDio was one of the people who signed the SCO NDA
and came away talking about what a great case SCO had. If there was any
question of where she is coming from, this Yankee pronouncement (on ZDNet)
should make things clear. "SCO has wisely elected to adopt a flexible and
reasonable position on the licensing fees it seeks from IBM corporate
customers... SCO is well advised to pursue its current course and not seek
retroactive fees dating back two years ago when IBM first shipped Linux
2.4.""

Then there's this one, "Analyst who saw SCO 'evidence' says origin of code a
matter of debate," at: http://www.theage.com.au/
articles/2003/06/13/1055220751243.html
"The 80 lines of code that appear to be related - what proportion of the
sample evidence, in terms of lines of code, does this represent?

SCO claims it was just one example. But (it) says there are "hundreds of
thousands of derivative lines of code," to back up its claims. The industry
will find out for certain once this case gets to court. I wouldn't expect
lawyers for either side to divulge all of their evidence in advance. IBM and
SCO are just now beginning the "discovery phase" of the suit. So I anticipate
that more revelations will be forthcoming over the next couple of months."

Another, "SCO Takes Linux Licensing Fight Further," at: http://
www.technewsworld.com/perl/story/31166.html
"DiDio, who said SCO's copyright registrations illustrate the company's
seriousness about its claims and represent a step toward possible litigation,
described SCO's actions as "a very wise course."

"They went out of their way to say they are holding Linux customers harmless,"
she said. "They're not being greedy. Under the law, if they prevailed [in the
IBM suit], they could hold the infringers liable."

DiDio criticized IBM's lack of indemnification of customers in the legal case
and noted that by stating Linux creator Linus Torvalds had inherited the
copyright violation and was therefore not responsible for it, SCO is "trying
to ruffle as few feathers as possible.""

Another: "A good question: What does the SCO Unix code reveal?" at: http://
www.computerworld.com/softwaretopics/os/linux/story/0,10801,82070,00.html
"Laura DiDio, an analyst at The Yankee Group in Boston, said she was shown two
or three samples of the allegedly copied Linux code, and it appeared to her
that the sections were a "copy and paste" match of the SCO Unix code that she
was shown in comparison."

Oh - this IS good!! "Where Was Ms. DiDio On This Day of Days?" Find at:
http://radio.weblogs.com/0120124/2003/08/20.html
"I can't help myself.

We've all listened to her expound on this code for months now. Hardly a day
went by without another quotation from the lovely and tireless Ms. DiDio on
how credible SCO's code claims are and how seriously the community should be
taking them. And today, not a peep.

Well, we can't have a DiDio-free day on the one occasion we all particularly
want to hear from her the most. Since she does not oblige, and is perhaps
wanting to hide behind the couch so no one ringing the bell will know she's
home, perhaps a quick review. After all, she's a senior analyst, so her words
have lasting value. In a perfect world, her boss reads Groklaw."

Oh....this is good as well!!! "Laura DiDio independent? bwahahaha!" Find it:
http://linuxtoday.com/news_story.php3?ltsn=2004-03-25-016-26-NW-MR-MS-0003
"Fans of Groklaw recognize DiDio as the chief SCO apologist, and spewer of SCO
FUD. Anyway, the "independent report" speaks for itself:"

Another: "Microsoft Removal 101" Find it: http://www.newsfactor.com/
story.xhtml?story_id=21694
"A "rip and replace" removal of Windows from the desktop is still very much
the exception rather than the rule, Laura Didio, senior analyst at the Yankee
Group, told NewsFactor. "The move to Linux is not a stampede. Linux is
nibbling at the fringes," Didio said.

Cost complexity is a big reason why organizations are still reluctant to make
a switch to Linux, Didio said. The question of what is the total cost of
ownership of Linux vs. Windows is still unanswered. For example, "if Linux is
a free OS, does that mean you'll get a price break if you get it preloaded on
hardware?" Didio asked."

===========================

ONLY a complete idiot can't see through all the bovine excrement from Didio!
She doesn't know anymore about code than I do, yet runs her mouth like she's
an expert! Her past articles and quotes are PRO-MickySoft. She has only said
something good about Linux when she has to and ONLY when it isn't likely to
give Linux any real credibility.

Simply put, she a good looking good smelling pint sized "super shill" for
MickySoft and SCO, and NOTHING else.
