[Am-info] MY ANNOUNCEMENT -- REJECTING NADER

Members of the AM-INFO list.

This morning, Ralph Nader announced his candidacy for president.

I view this as a very bad mistake, misguided and foolish.

As you know, the AM-INFO list is hosted by Essential.org,
which has done fine work in the past but is sponsored by
Ralph Nader and can be labeled a Nader organization. I have
the greatest respect for Mr. Nader and his important work.
But there is a difference between constructive consumer
activism and destructive dabbling in politics.

From=20this moment, I will no longer moderate the AM-INFO list.

I am still very, very angry at Mr. Nader for his splitting
the vote in the last presidential election.  He should have
foreseen that this would cost Al Gore the election, and it did.

Mr. Nader apparently feels that it is his way or the highway.

For me, it is the highway, Mr. Nader.
