Microsoft announced earnings - down from the previous year.
But, of course, they beat the Street's expectations - could it be that
they whisper to the "Analysts" that their earnings will be, say 50
cents, while they know the actual will be 51 cents?
But the market ain't falling for this flim-flam any more..
Last I looked, in after-hours trading, MSFT was down about 2%.
I'm sure they will step in and buy their own stock, just to prop up the
price. But that will make it that much harder to show increased
earnings next time.
Think of all those MS employees who worked their tails off for stock
options which turned out to be worthless. Now they will get
"restricted" stock, which has gone absolutely nowhere.
Since November of 2002, MSFT stock has stayed in a rut at about $27 - 28
per share (they used to be $55 back then, but they split 2 for 1). So
Investors and employees of Microsoft have nothing whatsoever to show for
their year-and-a half-long committment to this miserable company,
except, of course for the measly .08% dividend the King of Greed
declared about a year ago.
Suckers. Suckers all. And the world knows it.
It has finally come; the beginning of the end of Microsoft. Anyone who
wishes to challenge this assertion, I say - go ahead, buy the stock.
