GARTNER SAYS LINUX SUCCESS COMING AT UNIX'S EXPENSE
Gartner analysts presenting at a conference in Mumbai said Linux's
growth as a mission-critical enterprise server platform will come at
Unix's expense, not Windows. Also, Gartner predicts that by 2008,
most enterprises will have migrated 80% of Unix-based applications to
Linux and by 2006, Linux will have 70% of the performance capability
Unix has today.
