[Am-info] CNET: Microsoft to license SCO's Unix code

Here's a curious story.  Why would Microsoft want to license "obsolete
technology from 30 years ago"?  I also thought that Microsoft
disapproved of companies such as SCO that litigate when they have
failed to compete in the marketplace.  Microsoft claims that their
license with SCO "is representative of Microsoft's ongoing commitment
to respecting intellectual property and the IT community's healthy
exchange of IP through licensing", which is hard to interpret as other
than a tacit admission that they are supporting SCO's lawsuit against
IBM over Linux.
