Speaking of ZD, I was browsing through the magazine rack at our local
supermarket. I happened to pick up the current issue of PC Magazine.
There was a blurb about the "Exclusive interview of Bill Gates by
Michael J. Miller."

I was shocked. The mag was only about a quarter of an inch thick.

I remember when the rag was about 1 inch thick and came out twice a
month. It was packed with all kinds of ads for all kinds of PC hardware
and software.

So I guess ZD can credit Microsoft for yet another innovation, namely,
the killing of all competition and the elimination of all those
advertisers in their own magazine. ZD bought all the spin from Redmond,
just like Al-Jezeera (why are they all named "Al?") bought all the spin
from "Baghdad Bob." People in the Arab world are now questioning Al's
credibility to the point of physically threatening Al's reporters in
Kuwait and Dearborn.

Perhaps PC owners will finally question the credibility of the major
Microsoft-supporting magazines and take appropriate actions. Physical
threats? Probably not. But they sure aren't buying ad space in their
publications...
