"Bell Labs has done next to no innovation ever. It is a total
sham that Lucent is trying to get money from Microsoft.
Microsoft has never borrowed, stolen or lifted IP from anyone.
Microsoft is the most innovative company in the world. What has
Bell Labs given us? UNIX, C, C++? All legacy, all useless.
Microsoft has given us Windows XP. Microsoft has found a way to
make a consumer OS use 1GB of RAM and 30GB of hard drive space.
I am taking my rep out to lunch to show my support."

And I appreciated this response...
Congratulations, Zack. You have just been blessed as the new
Minister of MisInformation for Iraq.

Microsoft has filed a lawsuit against Lucent Technologies,
asking that a court nullify a number of Lucent patents covering
technology in some of the software giant's products.
The suit, filed on Tuesday in a federal court in San Diego, is
the latest in struggle that has simmered over the past year over
audio and video coding and other technologies patented by
Lucent's research arm, Bell Laboratories.
The Wall Street Journal first reported this story on Friday,
noting that Microsoft was seeking to invalidate 13 Lucent
patents.
