Here are a couple of interesting stories I saw today:
U.S. Federal Court to Hear Appeal in Microsoft Case
http://quote.bloomberg.com/fgcgi.cgi?ptitle=Technology%20News&s1=blk&tp=ad_topright_tech&T=markets_box.ht&s2=ad_right1_technology&bt=ad_position1_technology&box=ad_box_all&tag=technology&middle=ad_frame2_technology&s=APoLcExWRVS5TLiBG
If the above URL appears borked in your mail client, the summary of
the story is that the Appeals Court will hear Massachusetts' and West
Virginia's appeal of CKK's acceptance of the DOJ-Microsoft anti-trust
settlement.
Microsoft RPC hole could lead to DoS attacks

This would appear to be a routine Microsoft security alert, except
here they claim that NT 4 cannot be fixed and recommend use of a
firewall for NT 4 users. Patches are available for Windows 2000 and
XP. Of course, there's no way to tell if this is a ploy to convince
laggards to upgrade or if there really is some fundamental shortcoming
in NT 4's design.
