Linux Moves Toward The Desktop

The open-source operating system's move to the mainstream means
that vendors have to deliver graphical PC desktops that offer
many of the same apps found in Windows--word processing,
spreadsheets, and E-mail--without the need to commit to Microsoft
licenses.
