     I disagree. I think some of the marketing executives were sitting in 
their offices after a long day of reprocessing bullshit, smoking illegal 
substances so powerful that only vested Microsoft executives can afford 
to purchase it. One of them suddenly had a bright idea. "Whoah, what if 
we, like, spent a couple hundred million on an ad campaign with your 
cousin dressed up like a BUG?" "DUDE! And I bet Ballmer will greenlight 
it, he's smoking stronger stuff than you are!"

     Or maybe it's just like the E*Trade SuperBowl ad with the monkey 
playing a drum. They just wanted to spend a record amount of money on the 
worst advertisement of all time.
