Does anyone remember?
Remember, back 4 to 10 years ago, when an "international
research group" issued press release after press release
about how much money a given country was losing in tax
revenue due to "piracy" and how many jobs were being lost?
For years, this outfit turned out these releases, targeting
major U.S. cities, states, and many countries.
Do you remember that, with just a little bit of investigation
in the research company's home state (Washington) their
false front was penetrated?
Their true ownership was well hidden, but the address of their
corporate attorney's address was "One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA".
All those years, all those press releases, and not one
member of the press looked into the true source of the obviously
self-serving releases.
Remember? I doubt if things have changed.
