[Am-info] Big beef: How MS might charge you for security

The funny thing is that I'm sure people would pay for improved security
by removing things... Like 2000 Professional without IIS available or
without some of the other office features.  I mean, not many people want
to serve web pages, or index web pages, or do a half-dozen other things
that Microsoft installs software for by default.  If they just allowed
consumers to choose and customize their purchase (or allowed their OEMs
to do the same), security would be improved and costs for everyone would
come down.

But, clearly, that doesn't make sense in Microsoft land.
