If Fred Miller would like, I can think of an excellent metric.

Pick 3 stories a day, and post only those.  Just 3, no more.  Pick the 3
best or most relevant stories.  If you miss a day, no making it up.  The
largest number of stories posted in any 24 hour period should be 3.

If Fred Miller would stick to this, I'd have no difficulty with his
posts.  Even if they weren't overly relevant, at least the volume
wouldn't be so annoyingly high.

Of the posts Fred as made, only a miniscule 5% or so ever spark any
discussion.  If Fred had to restrict himself to just 3 posts per day,
and chose them carefully, I bet that percentage would go way up.
