I don't know why you're having a problem. MacOS X supports Postscript and
TT fonts. I haven't found an (OSX) application yet that doesn't allow me
to use both the TT and Type 1 fonts I'd installed in my OS9 System Folder
years ago, as well as the TT fonts installed in the OSX System folder.
Cocoa applications support fonts through the universal Font Pane. Fonts
old and new, TT and Type 1, are listed there -- at least on my systems
they are.
