"Graphics chip vendor Nvidia Corp has been forced to write off inventory
worth $21m as demand for PCs slowed. However, the figure includes $7m
for chips for Microsoft Corp's Xbox, suggesting that the Redmond,
Washington-based giant is struggling in its battle with market leader
Sony Corp's PlayStation2.

Nvidia is already in a dispute with Microsoft over the price it pays
for chipsets for the Xbox, which the companies have agreed to send to
arbitration. But the write-offs suggest that its relationship with
Microsoft is damaging its bottom line. "

Hmmm?

I just heard that MSNBC is a big loser for NBC (and its parent GE) as
well.

Looks like the "Microsoft Magic" hasn't quite rubbed off on Nvidia and
GE. Looks like the "Golden Touch" of Microsoft association has
tarnished a bit more.

Looks like Microsoft's attempts to enter markets other than Windows
aren't working. That's a very bad sign for the company because they
know that the PC OS market is pretty well saturated. They simply can
not sustain their accustomed rate of growth without breaking into other
markets, like gaming, broadcasting, etc. But it ain't working.
