Microsoft closed down today about $3.40 to $46 and change - about a 6.5%
drop.
To all the Microsoft employees who monitor this list:
Your stock options are almost worthless. You have been slaving 12-16
hour days and listening to Gates' droning and Ballmer's bellowing for
years with practically nothing to show for it. Your mortgages are still
due. Your Porsche payments are still due. Your property taxes on those
expensive homes are still due.
But take heart. Your executives took care of themselves. Billg and
Steveb have been cashing in their stock, bit by bit for years now.
They're OK, even if you're not. You might have to consider bankruptcy,
but thank God, they are still very solvent.
You should be delighted that your leaders showed such wisdom and
innovative financial foresight. They will still be around to steer the
mighty ship of Microsoft even when you're long gone.
How wonderful it must be to work for a company that has such
forward-looking executives. You must feel very, very proud.
