I don't watch much TV but I understand these ads are running on a pretty
tight rotation on some of the cable stations. I've seen all of them on
Apple's site. I guess I'd call them "direct," but not "in-your-face" like
so many ad campaigns we see today.
Still, quite a few people are absolutely infuriated by these ads. Even a
couple of editorialists (Dvorak was one, I think) have said they are a big
mistake because they make Windows users look stupid. I don't know where
they find such a negative connotation in an ad that offers only the most
most basic case for product comparison, but I'm really hearing it. It
seems that every effort Apple makes to sell its products is polarizing in
one way or another. One of the stranger features of the personal computer
market.
