nope.... Gene Roddenberry and friends made the Ferengi to represent what is
bad about uncontrolled capitalism.  The Ferengi represent the worst of free
market capitalism gone bad.  It was Genes hope that by the year 2300 we will
have thrown off the shackes of greed and material possesions.  A utopian
society of course and one that we will probably never attain, but a dream of
Gene R.  The Ferengi would better represent the Marketing Dept.  And the
Ferengi in this particular dimension would be allied with the Borg.
