William Neukom, Microsoft's chief attorney who led the software
giant's defense against federal antitrust charges, on Wednesday
said he will rejoin his former law firm as a partner.

Interesting. He has been with Microsoft for 20+ years.

He has said he wanted to leave Microsoft since they thought a
sweet give-away deal had been negotiated with the Justice
Department, then that started to go sour, and he stayed on.
