I am trying to find the original discussions of this licensing issue.
My memory is that MS reserves the right to alter any installation of
its code without notice and has responded to the outrage upon discovery
with the legaleze that means "we'll post some mention of the need to
'patch' your install, somewhere, some of the time".

Please correct me if I'm wrong, and please provide any documentation
or references you might have to the underlying issues and the actual
licensing language pertinent to MS's 'right' to alter your harddrives'
content whenever they see fit without notification, let alone consent.

I thank you for your help and appreciate any information you may
provide on the topic - whether I like it or not.

Glenn

"You have the right to remain stupid. Anything you think, can and will

you. If you decide to change the channel you will only see more of the
same crap. Knowing and understanding your rights won't make a bit of
difference." - from Too Much Coffee Man by Shannon Wheeler
