Because there seemed to be some who disbelieve that AT&T had any
infrastructure based on OS/2, here is the anouncement of the purchase of
IBM's global network

On December 8, 1998 AT&T and IBM announced a series of strategic
agreements under which AT&T will acquire IBM's Global Network business for
$5 billion in cash, and the two companies will enter into outsourcing
contracts with each other. The contract for AT&T to acquire IBM's network
was completed in the US on April 30, 1999, and will be completed in other
countries in subsequent months.
IBM will continue to provide fully integrated strategic
outsourcing, including designing and managing global network solutions. We
also will continue to provide services in areas that rely heavily on servers
and make use of our traditional strength in IT management.
These areas include:
a.. Business Information Services
a.. IBM Interchange Services
b.. Web Hosting Services
AT&T is acquiring the IBM Global Network and a number of IBM's
data transport services that run on the network, including managed data
network services for virtual private networks and remote access, Internet
access, universal messaging, transaction routing and file transfer.
