It's my understanding they would just facilitate the connectivity. The
games would still have to have network support. They'll probably head
the subscription method eventually, to lock you in, just like everything
else. Thing is, many folks like to play online and alone, who the hell
wants to connect to a server every time you want to play a game?

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
