I agree.  I often compare it to FM radio.  You can buy your radio from 
anyone, they all take the same 'format.'  The same could be for file 
formats today.

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
