I'm not exactly sure what you might be looking for, but if you right 
click 'my computer' and select 'properties in win95 you are presented 
with the number you have to enter to install the software.  What more 
would they need?

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
