Hi all,
In following this debacle, the accounting practice is the one really in deep
kimchee. Accenture is the IT side of the old Anderson (they had a very nasty
and public divorce), and to my knowledge has not been implicated in any
misdeeds. However, they've had problems of their own, particularly in SAP
implementations. Hershey sued them a couple years back for roughly $35
million or so, as Accenture botched a SAP job so badly that Hershey missed
Halloween!
Accenture and M$ are in bed on a number of technology deals, mostly in
systems integration work with mid-size companies. When I was working, I had
a lot of exposure to the Andersen - pre-Accenture and Accenture partners and
consultants. For the most part they were diligent and ethical, very much in
keeping with the "Android" moniker at the time. Accenture here in the UK is
hiring; in fact there were here on campus a few weeks ago and sang a pretty
tune, so someone's passing the kool-aid around...
