Apple's Response to Microsoft: Unix Ads?

Posted by pudge on 05:34 PM -- Monday April 15 2002 from the unix-shmunix
dept.

flaneur writes "In light of Microsoft's recent anti-Unix ads and the end
of the 5-year contract between Apple, it's pretty interesting that Apple
is suddenly running print ads emphasizing the Unix core of Mac OS X.
Under the headline 'Sends other UNIX boxes to /dev/null', the ads contain
quotes from various journalists praising the OS. But the most interesting
thing? There's no IE in the dock -- Netscape is shown instead! Hmmm...

I like that last sentence most of all. Now the deal is over and Apple
can go back to Microsoft bashing the way nature intended things to be.
Happy days.
